GMS DE Students receive prestigious fellowships

During the 2018-2019 academic year, students from the Designated Emphasis in Global Metropolitan Studies received several prestigious fellowships to support their research. We congratulate them on their accomplishments, and we are excited that their work is recognized by multiple institutions outside UC Berkeley!

Here are the students and respective fellowships received:

Giuseppina Forte (Architecture) received the Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Grant.

Chris Herring (Sociology) received the Horowitz Foundation for Social Policy Grant.

Heba Najada (Architecture) received the 2019 Grant from the Critical Refugee Studies Collective and the IJURR Foundation Studentship within the field of urban and regional studies.

Jesse Rodenbiker (Geography) received the Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation Doctoral Fellowship.
