Governance

The Global Metropolitan Studies (GMS) is governed by two co-directors, who work together with an Executive Committee and a Steering Committee. The Executive Committee provides policy direction and helps arrange financial commitments, while the Steering Committee serves as the core faculty for GMS.

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

The Executive Committee consists of seven members: two co-directors and five representatives of core departments.  It is appointed by the Vice Provost of Strategic Academic & Facilities Planning.

STEERING COMMITTEE

The GMS Steering Committee is comprised of faculty members holding GMS FTEs; five faculty members who are actively engaged in GMS teaching, research, and outreach activities appointed by the GMS co-directors; and the Executive Committee members. The term of service on the Steering Committee is three years. Steering Committee members may be reappointed for one additional three year term.
