About Global Metropolitan Studies
The Global Metropolitan
Studies Initiative is co-directed by Professors Elizabeth Deakin of City
and Regional Planning and Professor Peter Evans of Sociology.
The Co-Directors are joined in these endeavors by an Executive
Committee. Current members are:

- Peter Bosselmann, Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning

- Dan Kammen, Energy and Resources
- Nezar AlSayyad, Architecture
Additional faculty members serve on search committees and educational
program committees.
The Center for Global Metropolitan Studies is housed in the Institute of
Urban and Regional Development, an organized research unit directed by
David Dowall of the Dept. of City and Regional Planning. Dowall serves
as ex officio member of the Executive Committee. IURD provides staff
support to all Center activities, including faculty searches.
